Simon the Plowman is a family owned and operated business. We have served Chester County, Montgomery and Berks County areas for over 77 years.
John F. Simon of Spring City started the family business during WWII, planting "Victory Gardens". He quickly got the name "Simon the Plowman" and started our family business. Victory Gardens, also called "war gardens" or "food gardens" for defense, were gardens planted both at private residences and on public land during World War I and World War II to reduce the pressure on the public food supply brought on by the war effort.
John grew the business by adding a variety of services. His son David L. Simon worked along side his father learning side by side and took over ownership in the 1970's. David brought up his son Jeff in the same way, working together side by side, father and son. Jeff took ownership over the family business in 2017.
